Post-Covid-19 Social Europe – the EU must be tough and mature

The coronavirus crisis already marks a before and after in the approach and development of Social Europe. It even seems to have called into question the very construction of the EU. But, in the same way that, in the case of human beings, adversities bring out both their most negative characteristics and their most positive values, the European Union can emerge stronger from this pandemic if it allows the values on which it was based to emerge, the ideal of European construction: the foundation of an economic, political and social power under the force of union and common coordination between Member States. I share here a blog co-written with Irina De Sancho Alonso, Employment and Social Policy Advisor of the Spanish Socialist Delegation at the European Parliament.
